ependymal cells
regenerate, moderate
these nervous tissue cells are the barrier that holds the brain's cavities, and the cerebrospinal fluid (a clear, colorless body fluid) in place! similar in shape to a group of vertically-standing french fries, they circulate the cerebrospinal fluid, and one side of the french-fry shape is covered in even smaller french fry shapes, known as cilia! supporting and insulating a part of the neuron known as the axon (the rope shaped center part), these cells reside in the central nervous system (cns). An individual oligodendrocyte can create around 50 “myelin sheaths” to wrap around the 50 axons in its vicinity.
